Capabilities for custom and non-standard ceramic work
You may arrive with a difficult ceramic application, a finished drawing, an existing part, or only a function and operating conditions.
Apogee brings engineering, tooling, and manufacturing together to develop a workable path from requirement to production.
Requirements outside our current materials and processes are identified at review. Your team remains responsible for the finished product or system.
Understand the application
Engineer the ceramic and process
Design and build tooling
Sample, manufacture, and inspect
In-house R&D
Apogee’s in-house R&D team supports custom specifications, material direction, development quantities, and non-standard requirements.
From samples to production
Suitable requirements can move from development quantities and samples into repeat production. Samples and production use the same process and tooling. Manufacturing, inspection, and production support take place at Apogee’s Paris, Ontario facility.
Custom capability for challenging, non-standard applications
SECORE International: developing a new ceramic component from function to production
The ceramic star began as a new functional concept rather than an existing part. Apogee helped translate SECORE’s required function and deployment method into a manufacturable component, developing the sloped surfaces, edge grooves, and centre opening around the needs of tooling, semi-dry pressing, firing, and production.
Capability demonstrated in our product showcase
Ceramic Plaques
Cordierite ceramic infrared plaques, emitters, and burner tiles used in customer-designed heating and burner assemblies.
Technical Ceramics
Custom components made using selected technical ceramic materials to meet OEM and industrial requirements.
Custom Refractory
Custom refractory components and specialty ceramic shapes for use in thermal, combustion, cyclic, or structural applications.
Discuss your custom ceramic requirement
Tell us what the component must do, the conditions it will face, and how far the work has progressed. We will use that information to identify the most useful technical next step. A defined drawing, specification, and production need may be enough for a quotation. An earlier or non-standard requirement can begin with a technical discussion.
