Design intent resolved into a manufacturable part

Development through to repeat production

A manufacturing partner for the life of the program

Review Capabilities

Engineering-led, Canadian manufacturing of custom advanced ceramic components for OEM and industrial equipment

Parts are engineered, pressed, and fired in one plant in Paris, Ontario, serving customers in North America, Europe, and beyond.

Is your ceramic component already defined, or still being developed?

A drawing that works on paper is not yet a part that survives forming and firing.

Getting from one to the other is the work.

Every requirement is reviewed case by case. If a requirement falls outside available materials, tooling, pressing, and firing processes, we say so at review.

What Apogee brings to a custom requirement

Understand the application

Engineer the ceramic and process

Design and build tooling

Sample, manufacture, and inspect

From requirement review to repeat production

Development and production all take place at one site. Samples and production use the same process and tooling.

Review the requirement

Some requirements arrive as detailed drawings. Others start with a current part, sample, or early concept. Any of these is enough to define what comes next.

Develop tooling and samples

Your engineers collaborate with ours on material direction, tooling, samples, and modifications.

Manufacture in Ontario, Canada

Material is prepared, pressed, fired, and quality-controlled at the Paris, Ontario site.

Support repeat production

When the requirement and manufacturing route are suitable, work can move from development into repeat production. Not every project needs every stage or advances to production.

Apogee is responsible for the ceramic component and its manufacturing requirements. Complete product or system design remains with the original equipment manufacturer or system owner.

Turning a new concept into a manufacturable ceramic component

Apogee manufactures specially engineered ceramic settlement substrates called ceramic stars for SECORE International’s coral-seeding work.

Product showcase

Three families of work highlight some of what we’ve engineered and taken through to production. Your component may look nothing like any of them.

Cordierite ceramic infrared plaques in a range of sizes and perforation patterns.

Ceramic Plaques

Cordierite ceramic infrared plaques, emitters, and burner tiles used in customer-designed heating and burner assemblies.

Custom technical ceramic components made to customer requirements.

Technical Ceramics

Custom components made using selected technical ceramic materials to meet OEM and industrial requirements.

Custom refractory and specialty ceramic shapes, including formed bars, a perforated cylinder, and faceted blocks.

Custom Refractory

Custom refractory components and specialty ceramic shapes for use in thermal, combustion, cyclic, or structural applications.

Ceramic components for varied operating environments

Two assemblies can look identical yet still place very different demands on a ceramic component. What yours has to withstand drives the material and the manufacturing approach.

Cooking and foodservice equipment

Infrared emitters, burner components, formed thermal components, and BBQ inserts for customer-designed cooking and foodservice equipment.

Hearth and fireplace equipment

Ceramic infrared emitters, burner blocks, and formed shapes used in customer-designed hearth and fireplace systems.

Industrial heating and thermal processing

High-temperature ceramic components, such as infrared emitters and formed shapes, for process heating, curing, drying, thawing, and related applications.

Specialty OEM and custom industrial applications

Apogee Ceramics 20-year anniversary badge, 2006 to 2026.

More than 20 years in business

Components specified in Apogee’s early years remain in production today.

“It was not that long ago that our ceramic supplier closed its operations and we were scrambling to find an alternative. When Apogee emerged as a possible supplier, we had our reservations, but soon we became convinced that you were up to the challenge. Ever since, Apogee has delivered quality products at fair market prices and in a timely manner. Additionally, when problems have arisen, Apogee has promptly been on-site to address the issues. I wish Apogee continued success.”

Send what you have. A requirement still taking shape is as workable a starting point as one ready for a quote.
