Apogee Retrofit Reduces Green House Gases

Always conscientious about climate change, Apogee Ceramics Inc. embarked on a wide-reaching project designed to reduce any negative impact on the environment.  In 2015, Apogee initiated process changes and adopted new technologies to improve efficiencies.  Along with refractory additions and new controls Apogee also embarked on an extensive retrofit of our bell kiln.  This focus on reducing greenhouse gases, improving equipment efficiencies and reducing defective product, allows us to proudly announce that we have saved an estimated 82,000 m3/year of natural gas and reduced greenhouse gasses emitted by 154 tonnes over the life of the furnace.

In 2017 Apogee Ceramics is planning to relocate to a new, larger facility where we can continue our focus on minimizing climate change.
